Qualification

VTCT Level 4 Laser and IPL Course is an advanced qualification designed to equip you with the skills to conduct laser, IPL or LED therapies (Hair removal, non-ablative skin rejuvenation and treatment of benign sun-related hyper-pigmentation). Fully accredited by VTCT and suitable for both hairdressers and beauty therapists alike. This seven-day course includes both theory and practical work; you will learn advanced skin analysis methods as well as various systems available for both hair removal and skin rejuvenation purposes; practical days will involve working directly with live models!

This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for beauty therapy and is an internationally recognized qualification. This course is ideal for beauty therapists aspiring to specialize in either hair removal or skin rejuvenation using both IPL and laser systems, learning to conduct full client consultations, formulate tailored courses of treatment that address client needs in a realistic working environment and understand health and safety requirements for using laser equipment.

As part of your assessment for this qualification, you will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence as part of its assessment process. Your portfolio will then be judged by an impartial assessor who will test your competence across various activities and test written examination and oral questioning sessions.

An individual seeking to participate in this course must hold at least a Level 3 beauty therapy qualification; though not compulsory. Most insurance providers only insure those who possess at least this qualification. Course content

This advanced Aesthetic qualification is perfect for therapists looking to specialize in Laser and IPL treatments, giving you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform safe and effective treatments in salon environments. Our training course comprises 7 days of theory delivery via virtual classroom and practical assessments take place at our state-of-the-art Academy in Holmes Chapel Cheshire.

This Level 4 course is a nationally accredited qualification based on beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS). Additionally, the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority has given their approval. On completion of the course you will receive a Certificate from VTCT awarding body.

In this first module of our course, you will gain a broad overview of lasers. From their various types to how to maintain safety and hygiene when using them safely; as well as any necessary precautions when operating this technology. Furthermore, you’ll gain knowledge on skin anatomy.

Within this course, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of safe working practices and recognizing and mitigating potential hazards within an aesthetic clinic or beauty salon environment. Furthermore, you will discover laser/IPL treatment techniques suitable for treating various conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, freckles, sun damaged skin and benign sun-related hyper-pigmentation.

Your advanced skin analysis training will expand on what you already know and enable you to identify clients suitable for laser and IPL treatments, enabling you to tailor a treatment plan specifically to their needs and requirements. Furthermore, you will learn to administer long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser and Alexandrite IPL facial rejuvenation treatments among many other laser and IPL procedures.

Sooner rather than later it is likely that all Aesthetic practitioners will need a level 4 qualification to administer laser/IPL therapies, due to the JCCP opening their voluntary registers and leading insurance providers who cover aesthetic treatments actively working together towards setting industry-wide standards.

Fees

An IPL/VTCT level 4 course is necessary if you wish to conduct laser treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation, including hair removal and skin rejuvenation. With this qualification in hand, laser therapists can practice these services at any salon or clinic and are highly sought after by employers and insurance companies as per JCCP regulations which will require all therapists performing these treatments to possess one regulated qualification in order to practice.

This qualification is a practical training course that covers a range of topics including advanced skin analysis. By learning all of the Fitzpatrick skin types, this qualification enables participants to identify clients suitable for intense light and laser system treatments as well as create tailored plans. Furthermore, IPL, Nd:YAG and diode lasers will also be covered for hair removal, red vein treatments, pigmentation treatments such as sun spots and freckles removal as well as laser skin tightening treatments.

Timescale
